The Big Gold Belt (History & More)

Written By: Mark Connor | Date: 11/09/19

In the countless years this great sport and/or source of entertainment has been running, I don't think we've ever seen a championship belt that has looked as good as this one. For me, This is the specific championship belt meant that you were the very best, and not to mention that it just looks downright good on ANYBODY that wore it... Even Paul Heyman could have looked like a World Champion athlete!

The belt that goes by the moniker of the "Big Gold Belt", has a long and multi-generational past that dates all the way back to Jim Crockett Promotions. In 1985, Created by silversmith Charles Crumrine, The title would go from the workplace of Mr. Crumrine and straight around the waist of then NWA World Champion, "Nature Boy" Ric Flair.

The title would go on to be THE belt in WCW during the 90s, and then in WWE in the 00s and the 10s, and be held by many of the all time greats of the industry, Including Hulk Hogan, Chris Jericho, John Cena, Randy Orton, Sting, Rey Mysterio, Goldberg, Chris Benoit, Batista, Edge and The Undertaker!
