Thomas "Tommy" Billington, aka The Dynamite Kid, sadly passed away at the age of 60 on Monday December 5th, which was his birthday. The Lancashire grappler, became famous for his incredible in-ring abilities in Britain, Canada, Japan and the United States, and would go onto be one half of one of pro-wrestling's greatest ever tag teams with his cousin Davey Boy Smith, The British Bulldogs! Dynamite and DBS would go on to win the WWF World Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 2, and have many iconic and memorable battles with the Hart Foundation and the Fabulous Rougeaus'. Fellow British wrestling legend Marty Jones broke the news of Tom's passing on Twitter. RIP Thomas Billington. â– Former AWA World Tag Team Champion, Larry "The Axe" Hennig, sadly passed away on Thursday, December 6th. Larry, was the Father of legend Mr Perfect, Curt Hennig, and the Grandfather of current star Curtis Axel, who created his name using his Father's and Grandfathers name. â– Ring of Honor has seen the exodus of The Elite, As Cody, The Young Bucks and Hangman Page have all left the company, aswell as longtime star BJ Whitmer, who was frustrated with the company. In what seems to be a huge shakeup for 2019 following those major departures, ROH have signed Lucha sensation Bandido, UK superstar Mark Haskins, big man Shane Taylor, the revitalised PCO and MLW star Brody King to exclusive contracts. They join Jeff Cobb and Silas Young who have conformed they are staying with the company. â– Raw on 03/12 was a memorable night in WWE's history, as that episode garnered the worst viewership the in the shows 25 year existence. The peak viewership during the show came during the second hour, which had 2,399,000 viewers, but the show ended with a tally of 2,196,000 viewers. The show, which was wrote mostly by Vince McMahon, has drawn mass criticism for it's poor quality. â– Impact Wrestling has found a new TV home in the US on the Pursuit Channel starting in January. Impact has not signed an exclusive contract with the channel, as they are looking to find a bigger network to exclusively sign with. Anthem Sports and Entertainment [The parent company of Impact] is a part owner of the channel, which explains why the channel is willing to be a temporary home for the wrestling company. Rumoured networks that Impact could be residing on in the future include, truTV, WGN America and Syfy. In regards for Pop TV, Their to be former home of their content, There are no issues between the two because of the split, It's believed that Pop are looking to become a more Female based channel and Impact doesn't fit the image they are looking at. Both parties have split amicably. It should be noted that the Pursuit Channel is a more man's channel as it relates to more outdoor themed shows such as fishing etc. â– No means No! Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Hangman Page have all refused WWE contracts over the past few months, and they have been big money deals too. The Elite have refused to join the megalodon company, and have not re-signed with ROH or NJPW, in what appears to be in preparation to join the newly conceived promotion All Elite Wrestling. â– In a blow to NJPW's WrestleKingdom PPV in January, Michael Elgin has not been cleared to compete as he will have to undergo knee surgery. Elgin will be replaced by Yuji Nagata at the event, who will team with Jeff Cobb and David Finlay in a tag team Gauntlet match to determine the #1 contenders to the Never Openweight Six Man Tag Team Titles.
â– MLW's Court Bauer has revealed that a rival promotion had attempted to raid his company's talents, indicated that those who declined, had "Honor", which could mean Ring of Honor, which is coincidental considering ROH has recently signed major MLW names such as PCO and Brody King to exclusive contracts. â– The dream match at Impact Homecoming between LAX and The Lucha Brothers looks to still be on despite the shock injury of Rey Fenix, aka one half of the Lucha Bro's. Fenix was out of action due to a groin issue. â– One half of WWE NXT's The Mighty, Nick Miller, was released from WWE on 17/12. â– NJPW Superstar Hiroshi Tanahashi has re-signed with the company, whilst The Beer City Bruiser re-signs with Ring of Honor. â– Get ready to rumble at sea once again! As Chris Jericho has confirmed the Rock N' Wrestling Rager at Sea will return for its second outing, with full details coming in January, 2019.

"The Glamazon" Beth Phoenix is set to become the first woman to be inducted into the George Tragos & Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. ■Maxwell Jacob Friedman was stripped of his MLW Middleweight Championship after suffering a fractured elbow. A ladder match was set up to determine a new champion. ■Big Cazz, the former Big Cass in WWE, has since gone on to recover from his collapse at one of Tommy Dreamer's more recent House of Hardcore events. ■ROH and NJPW will once again team up for Honor Rising in Tokyo, Japan, on February 22nd and 23rd. Both shows will take place at the legendary Korakuen Hall. ■MLW launched it's first ever Digital Series on December 13th, when MLW's Court Bauer, gave The Hart Foundation (Teddy Hart, Brian Pillman Jr and British Bulldog Jr) full creative control over the series. ■Women of Wrestling makes it's TV debut with it's first event airing on January 18, 2019. The show will include big bouts between The Beast and Stephy Slays, Abilene Maverick and Fire, Khloe Hurtz and Eye Candy, and the WOW Championship main event match between Jungle Grrrl and Santana Garrett. ■The Kenny Omega era of the Bullet Club is over, and a new face has been elected, The "Switchblade" Jay White. White is now the leader of the Bullet Club OGz. ■WWE's plan of wrestling domination may not be as simple as it seems, as signing as many top talents as they possibly can isn't a certainty of preventing the Indies from gaining talents, as several top WWE stars are currently pissed off with the way in which they have been used, or lack of in their cases. Andrade Almas and Gran Metalik are not very happy with how they are being used, with Metalik even polling the fans on Twitter on whether he should leave and return for CMLL in Mexico or hit the Indies. Almas's friend Rush, is not convinced that WWE is a good move seeing how miserable Almas is with his current position. ■Roderick Strong of NXT will be working the Evolve 117 and 118 events for the Evolve company. Strong's opponents for the two shows are Fabian Aichner and Austin Theory respectively. ■Sports Illustrated announced that 16-time World Champion John Cena will be honoured as the recipient of this year’s Muhammad Ali Legacy Award at Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year Awards. The prestigious award is bestowed each year to an athlete or sports figure who embodies the ideals of sportsmanship, leadership and philanthropy and has used sports as a platform to make the world a better place. The Cenation Leader joins previous recipients of the award, including Magic Johnson, Jack Nicklaus, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jim Brown, Bill Russell and Colin Kaepernick. The Sportsperson of the Year Awards will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 11, and will be televised nationally on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 9/8 C on NBCSN. ■WrestleMania 35 week will be reverting back to it's previous format, in-which starting on Friday 5th, April, NXT's Takeover event will take place on Friday, The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on the Saturday, On Sunday will be the WrestleMania event itself, then on Monday and Tuesday respectively will be Raw and SmackDown.
