You don't have to be a wrestler to see the benefits of having an Indie career nowadays, And how it differs from the scene of the 1980's and 90's for instance. Such as choosing your dates to work around other ventures, Making more money than working on a single company contract like WWE.
Even though these are some very good reasons to consider choosing to stay on the indies over signing with just one promotion, What you would be missing out on in WWE isn't always worth the risk. Take for example Austin Aries and Hideo Itami for instance. Both men could have opted to continue working the Indies, or in Hideo's case, Stick with New Japan Pro Wrestling. But they chose to take the offer's received from WWE and live the dream, however, Both men have been hurt more in their short time in WWE than in as good as their entire career's elsewhere. Injuries have been happening almost every single week with WWE for the past few years, And its become a who's next to get injured game when watching WWE programming. Whether its Finn Balor, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Erick Rowan or Randy Orton, injuries in WWE are not just happening to the high risk takers like the cruiserweights, But to anyone who steps in a WWE ring. Whle its near impossible to say why the talents are being injured so often in WWE rings, but injuries happen anywhere and at anytime, No matter the company.
Even the pay is an upgrade on the Indies as to a WWE career, Unless you are a main event talent like an AJ Styles, a John Cena or a Brock Lesnar, As to some one like a Jinder Mahal, a Curt Hawkins et cetera, who probably make less than one nights work on the Indies every week [Which many former WWE talents have claimed]. But what is the benefit of choosing WWE over the Indies?? Well, for one there is the chance of having an iconic WrestleMania moment, and competing in national televised matches almost every week. Being able to become a global superstar and be known throughout even the smallest countries of the world, As to the Indies, Where your matches are mostly non-televised events that won't be seen by any other people than those in attendance at the show.
