From the moment that the rumours swirled the internet that Billionaire Tony Khan, Jim Ross, Chris Jericho and The Elite were working on a new company, For perhaps the first time in years, The Professional Wrestling business as a whole appeared to be on the up and up. Then more and more updates came out over the coming year, lending more and more hope to the dream of a new golden era in wrestling coming.
In October 2019, All Elite Wrestling began running it's first weekly TV broadcast, AEW Dynamite. A 2 hour broadcast on TNT of all places! It seemed like WWE had finally found a rival to fear in a ratings war for the first time since TNA's peak point, and the peak days of WCW in the 90s. But besides the obvious benefits of competition, wrestling as a whole looked brighter as more major companies mean more exposure and overall growth. However, Now that AEW has had a little bit of time to get it's feet planted (Still too early to properly tell just yet), The current ratings of the show prove one thing, even though they are at times beating their rival NXT, The fact remains that the show is still failing to break, and failing to even reach the million viewers mark in the US. This shows that wrestling is not in a new golden age as promised by the Bucks and co., infact, Wrestling is not thriving as we thought it would, it's barely getting by...
