The very thought of TNA being a worry for the never faulting WWE in the eyes of the TNA Bashers has been a mere joke since TNA's conception. The force that TNA has had in terms of competition has been like a constant nagging pain for the WWE for years, But only now are the signs of concern beginning to show on the WWE's once stern upper lip. Is it the fact that they are signing TNA's established household names, Or the fact that TNA has found a new stable home on POP TV in the States where they are top priority on the channel, Either way, In this article we will be looking at the many reasons as to why WWE is trying harder than ever to shove away TNA from the top of the Pro Wrestling hill.
WWE WORKING WITH THE INDIES
For its entire existence, The WWE and Vince McMahon has never worked with any company smaller than its self, And that is a fact. Even with the so called RING OF HONOR relationship, It has never been a two way street, WWE has never done anything for ROH other than go through there roster like a house on fire stealing and snapping up the best talents. So why after nearly six decades of independence, Are the WWE now looking towards making a new impression by collaborating with independent companies? Its is so that they can prevent TNA from getting to the best wrestlers before them. Lucha Underground team member and former WWE writer Big Dick Johnson, has recently stated that WWE has tried to raid the LU roster, So that just shows that the WWE are not really doing it for the good of Pro Wrestling, but for other reasons.
BRAND SPLIT AND SMACKDOWN GOING LIVE AND BEING MOVED TO TUESDAYS
Despite nearly every WWE fan pleading and hoping for a brand split for years, Is it only now in the same fortnight as TNA Programming on POP TV goes to a one night showing with no replays. This is more than coincidental and more than just a crazy theory, Its an announcement that WWE is attacking TNA again, And attacking with the gloves off. For the first time in ages, Is the WWE treating SmackDown as a first class brand along with RAW, And this is strange considering the last time SmackDown was given any sort of boost was when Edge was battling Batista and Undertaker! So why couldn't WWE have made SmackDown go live on the Thursday as to Tuesday?? Why is going to Tuesday so important?? So that they can take away viewers from TNA.
BATTLE OF THE QUALITY
Despite WWE having two Live programs a week, And TNA having a Live episode every so often, TNA is still producing the better wrestling product in all areas. With the in ring Wrestling being better, The Storylines and feuds being better, And creating new and exciting shows every week as to having to wait until the months PPV to get to see big matches happen with a decisive finish unlike WWE. Even the WWE fans are complaining about the quality of the WWE's shows, And to make themselves feel better they run down TNA (Which none of them actually watch). TNA has done away with storyline PPV's every month and has made each episode of Impact a can't miss, With the PPV aspects being added to the flagship show.
TAKING TNA'S ESTABLISHED STARS
WWE have been snapping up TNA's releases for years now, And like in the other areas ive talked about, Its only now that WWE are signing TNA's stars when they could have been doing it years and years ago. Names such as Austin Aries, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Eric Young, Bully Ray, Devon, Sting, James Storm and others have all made the switch, And in Storm's case, the Double switch. Is it because WWE can't make their own stars anymore or is it because WWE want to prevent TNA from having its stars back? Either way, WWE are making it well publicised that they are intent on taking the big names away from the other companies.
CONCLUSION If this is not solid and sufficient proof that WWE has it out to force TNA out of the line of competition, Then what is.
