Karen Jarrett revealed Live on Impacts first live show of the year that Impact and Global Force Wrestling have officially merged. In the upcoming weeks we will see the GFW titles and belts being defended on Impact TV, But the question is, Are the GFW titles and Impact titles going to sit side by side with one another, which is a very rare and odd thing to do considering the two companies have merged into one, as to two company's working together, or are they going to be unified.
All the current Impact titles apart from the Grand title, which has the old Impact logo on, have all got the TNA logo on them, and the fact that new titles representing Anthems new era haven't been brought in or even mentioned, One believes that the new title with the new Impact logo will be brought in when the GFW and Impact titles have been officially unified. For those unaware, the new GFW World Champion Alberto El Patron and the Impact World Champion Lashley are going to clash at the big Slammiversary PPV in July, Where the winner takes all the gold. So if we are not going to get the World title unified until Slammiversary, It would appear that the new World title could be revealed at Slammiversary, While other titles including the Knockouts, X-Division and World Tag Team belts are revealed in the weeks after.
WOULD HAVING TWO OF EACH TITLE ACTUALLY HURT?
For the company, it means more big title matches, But for the fans, Its just another title match on top of the already flooded card of title matches. Having to many titles leads to it becoming similar to WWE's problem right now, The UK Title, US Title, Cruiserweight Title, Raw Women's Title, SmackDown Women's title, Intercontinental Title, RAW Tag Team, SmackDown Tag Team, and the World titles etcetera. Too many titles means winning a title is less important or gratifying for the star/s or the fans, as even jobbers are being able to access a title shot which is a rare case in wrestling companies.
