In this new series, I, Mark Connor, and sometimes with special guests, will break down the big news items in the world of wrestling, analyse them, and lend perspective to them. Buckle in, and here we go!
Goodbye Paige;
"Saraya Bevis, better known as Paige in WWE, at only 25 years old has been told by the company that her days in a WWE ring are over... This isn't to me much of a shock, as I know how bad back and neck problems are in both people and animals. At only 25, Saraya has the rest of her life infront of her, and to return to the ring and spend at least fifty years bound to a wheelchair through making a regretful decision is not how I would want her to live, especially when being chair bound can be prevented in her case. Still a sad occasion for a prodigy of the wrestling business being cut off before she is about to hit her prime in the business. #ThankYouPaige"
Impact Wrestling 2018?
"Finally, with a certain and determined line-up to lead the helm of Impact Wrestling into the new generation the company stands strong with new leadership of Ed Nordholm, Scott D'Amore and Don Callis. Without giving any spoilers, The decisions that were made by new creative via what happened at the latest set of taping's indicate a new direction and a bold one, with new fresh talent and repairing bridges with old flames. Plus, the new company initiative to let their stars keep their created gimmicks when they leave will help make the company a place where talents will want to be at, As it has proven with the repairing of the relationship with the Hardy Brothers."
The Hardy's and Ed Nordholm Make Peace?
"This came out of nowhere, The Great War has ended between Anthem Sports and the Brothers of Hardy. Matt and Jeff Hardy will not be headed for Impact Wrestling anytime soon of that I'm certain, Even after when the time comes for the WWE and Hardy's to go their separate ways, It may not happen, But the chances of Hardy's returning to Impact in the future now that Jeff Jarrett has departed may make the odds greatly increase."
Samoa Joe out of action?
"WWE will suffer greatly from the retirement of Paige from the ring, but also the injury to fellow top star Samoa Joe, who could be out for upto 3 months. This could rule Joe out of a match at the Royal Rumble and foil plans for a match at WrestleMania."
Y2J Commemorates Omega match to Fallen Comrades?
"In his huge and shocking return to New Japan Pro Wrestling for a money match with Kenny Omega, Billed as Alpha vs. Omega, Chris Jericho would In an incredibly heartwarming gesture dedicate his match to his late friends Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit. To hear Jericho co-tribute this match in Benoit's honour was a truly commendable gesture despite all the unneeded criticism. I applaud him for this and stand by him in what he did."
Cody and The Bucks go All In!
"The Bullet Club's Cody and The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) are going for broke in a huge decision to take on a challenge of running their own wrestling show entitled 'All In' on September 1, later this year. The event that is being personally funded by Cody and the Buck's will hope to seat 10 thousand paying fans in an action packed show that's to include New Japan's Cleaner, Kenny Omega! This venture is going to be a big and risky one, but knowing the loyal fanbase of ROH and NJPW, It could come real close to the mark but I don't think that it will sell out."
