Sid's Thoughts: On the Rules in Today's Pro Wrestling (11/07/2016)

In the British wrestling ring, The rules have changed more dramatically than anywhere else, With the no exiting the ring rule being loosened, The 5 minute rounds which now are replaced by the match time limit, And perhaps the biggest change of all, The All-In rule being introduced. What is the All-In rule?, The All-In rule was the fundamental gap that once separated pro wrestling in the US from as good as the rest of the worlds pro wrestling. It simply means that the rules are much slacker, Such as being allowed to fight outside of the ring, The use of weapons in matches, And the ability to hold on to a submission hold for a count of five before it must be broken if the opponent has the ropes, for example. People will say that this has made wrestling better, But I disagree...

It has turned a once respected industry into a bloodbath of chaos and sometimes, Sheer stupidity. Now there are many wrestlers who respect the tradition, Such as Austin Aries, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero for example, Who proved that Modern day pro wrestling is far better off without the need for weapons to create five star entertainment. Should the Five minute rounds be re-introduced?, I think so yes, For special matches such as the main events, World Championship matches, and perhaps the Lucha Libre or Cruiserweights matches, For the sake that they can have a break from they're hard hitting and often suicidal style. Should the No weapons be re-introduced?, This will be impossible to re-introduce, based on the simple fact that there are far to many fans of it today, that to take it away would be extremely difficult. But taking it away would certainly separate the real talents from those who jump on the band wagon, Who have zero abilities and skills.
