The Big Question: Does The Undead Realm Need To Go?

"Afterall, You don't see modern day magicians revealing their tricks and dumbing down their acts just because the audience knows that magic is all sleight of hand, so why should pro-wrestling be the same?" - Jack Williams

How do you like your wrestling? For me, I like it as realistic as possible! I like to watch wrestlers take it seriously, show the business and those that have devoted their lives and their bodies to it some respect. The majority of past wrestler's and many of today have given and are giving everything to the fans, and trying to help give pro-wrestling the best reputation that they can, Which begs to question, Is something like the undead realm in Impact Wrestling killing the seriousness of the sport?

Pro-Wrestling, even from the moment it became fixed in order to prevent matches and bouts from ending in big disappointments, It wasn't treated or viewed as an artform, It was still a sport after all is said and done. The men and women in the ring didn't present themselves as if it was scripted or fake, they didn't expose the behind the curtain tricks that the sport had evolved into [IE doing slowmotion matches which expose the hand switches in a reversal making it look like they are working together instead of against each other in a competitive match, or a move that just simply isn't possible [IE Joey Ryan and his... (say no more)]].

Now, As for Impact Wrestling, they are producing great wrestling right now in all the divisions and areas, But in the Knockouts Division there is a little thing that's been a constant theme for a good while now, and it's called the undead realm. While in the gimmicky world of sci-fi wrestling or Lucha Underground, it's solid gold what they are creating, But when the rest of the show is kept in a real sort of theme it kind of seems silly and out of place. Now I'm not running it down, Everyone has their own tastes, But there are places for things like this, IE Lucha Underground, I don't think Impact is the place for this. Like when Allie was "killed" in the realm, How come she isn't being investigated by the police for a possible homicide? It's a wrestling show afterall, You wouldn't see Ronda Rousey kill Holly Holm in a mystical realm, same difference here, Just because wrestling has been exposed as scripted, It doesn't mean you have to give up on the illusion of keeping it as real as possible, Afterall, You don't see modern day magicians revealing their tricks and dumbing down their acts just because the audience knows that magic is all sleight of hand, so why should pro-wrestling be the same?
