WILLIAMS CORNER #3: ALBERTO EL PATRON
From his start in pro wrestling in AAA, working under the name Dos Caras Jr., Jose Alberto Rodriguez would go an incredible journey that span the entire globe from corner to corner, from AAA in Mexico, to Japan, to CMLL back in Mexico, then to the WWE as Alberto Del Rio. As Del Rio, He would find a great deal of success there, including becoming a multi-time World's Heavyweight Champion, a United States champion, the 2011 Royal Rumble winner and a Money in the Bank winner. Even with all this success, he claims he wasn't happy, not until he reached Impact Wrestling, which many including himself thought would never happen.
Alberto, now under the ringname of Alberto El Patron [aka The Boss], which he used when he left the WWE the first, and second and final time. While competing in Ring of Honor, AAA, and in Lucha Underground to name a few, Alberto ran wild with success and great respect across all the promotions. Then as soon as El patron's feet touch on Impact's ring canvass for the first time, He would win the Impact World Heavyweight Championship on his first night! defeating the Destroyer Lashley! albeit that it was a dusty finish, and he was stripped of the title just one week later, it was still one hell of a debut and quite the shock that Impact needed to kick off a new era!
In just a matter of weeks in Impact, Alberto has received more love and more respect than he ever got by the fans in WWE, and its clear as a fan that he likes it there, by the way he is and acts...Alberto El Patron has found his real home from home!
On July 2, El Patron will be challenging Lashley once again at the 15th Anniversary mega edition of the Slammiversary event for the Impact World Heavyweight title, whilst putting up his GFW Global championship too, In what will be a World title Unification match. Will he be able to steal the show and become the Undisputed Impact World champion! Roll on Slammiversary!
