TTR Showcase: Sami Callihan and oVe

Date: 23/05/19 | Written By Jack Williams

The very sight of Sami Callihan and his oVe boys is enough to make you lock yourself in your home and board the windows. They are trouble and anarchy on eight legs, but by god they are a talented bunch.

1. Dave Crist

Firstly, We have Dave Crist. One of the two jackals of the original two members of oVe. Dave with brother Jake in their first month in Impact Wrestling won the World Tag Team Championships from LAX's Santana and Ortiz. The two teams would go on to have a brutal, yet exhilarating series of matches that stretched the imagination and the boundaries of what can be done in a wrestling ring.

But back to Dave as a singles talent, He is a unique wrestler. His dark presence in the ring, complete with a downright bizarre arsenal of weapons he uses in his matches, make him interesting to me. The way in which he just hurls himself at his opponents without a care in the world makes him so appealing to watch. His character is on top form. His eerie presence and destructive ways in the oVe faction makes him an integral part of the group's DNA.

2. Jake Crist

As I mentioned, Jake and Dave have truly soared and thrived as a tag team in Impact since their debuts, But as of late they went into a slump in regards to booking, But with the revamping of the group with a Madman joining the ranks, The Crists and oVe are on the up, where their talents truly belong.

Back on topic. The other Crist, aka The lunatic of the skies! Jake is such an extremely agile and talented wrestler, who never seizes to amaze me with what he comes out with next. Jake's educated feet and his amazing wrestling ability makes him such a fearsome foe in the ring, and one to never rule out, even against all odds! Even in the ring with Brian Cage, the Machine, Jake still seems to have a small chance against him, whilst others his size wouldn't ever stand even a half of Jake's odds.

3. Madman Fulton

This monster is a perfect fit for the dark faction of Impact Wrestling and the Indies. Fulton's sheer size and power is unbelievable. The revival of the oVe faction has been long overdue, but with the addition of Madman Fulton, the group is now once again the feared group that they should be. Fulton's character from what little know so far, is that of a brainwashed monster, and that shows in his ring work. This man should he break away down the line, although selfishly I never want to see oVe breakup, could be a future World Champion material that WWE didn't utilise.

4. Sami Callihan

Of course if anyone on the Impact roster right now is destined to be World Champion, it's Sami Callihan. The man has unbelievable abilities in the ring, and his showmanship, or in his case, heelmanship is superb. He really is the "Draw". Since his Impact debut at Bound for Glory, assisting the Crist's in battle with LAX to victory, Sami has had a star studded career with career highlights happening almost every single week. From his feud with LAX and Konnan, to Pentagon Jr and Fenix, To Brian Cage and Rich Swann. Callihan makes even matches without title significance worth watching and worth waiting for. Impact needs to have Sami as the World Champion whilst the oVe faction is still in existence, It would be the ultimate gauntlet for the number one contender to run up against, and would make for a brilliant reign that would be memorable. Although that being said, Sami doesn't need someone behind him to be the top guy, but oVe is a special much loved faction that just adds to Sami, and in return, Sami adds to oVe.

Overall, I think that even as the are now, They are good enough to be ranked up there among the great factions in wrestling history, for their great chemistry, for all having great skills and talents, and impressive work rates.
