Despite having less than a poor title history in the WWF, Davey Boy Smith proved to the world that he did not need those titles to prove how good he truly was inside of the squared circle.
Davey's match with Bret Hart still stands the test of time as the greatest Summerslam bouts of all time, Which truly is the greatest accomplishment any wrestler could hope for in reality, but at the time in the minds of the wrestlers themselves the gold is more of a accomplishment. Although not holding the world championship, Davey held the tag team title with brother in law Owen Hart and in previous years with close friend and fellow countryman Dynamite Kid as the British Bulldogs, and he also had a successful run as a part of the Hart Foundation.
While his solo career may not have reached the level of greatness he rightfully deserved, he will forever and a day be fondly and greatly remembered for his tag team glory days and his everlasting contributions to the business we all love.
