The Wrestling Entertainment fans of Today will rave and shout about the Attitude Era and the good 'Ol ECW days, But were they as "Great" as they say? Broken Necks, Glued up wounds, Barbed wire ring ropes and a dozen of broken tables all in a day's work for the ECW Wrecking crew. The absolute incomparable lunacy of why they crippled themselves week in, week out for a pittance of a pay is beyond any sane man or woman. Blood and torn bodies were a regular feature of ECW, If that wasn't enough to get your blood curling then i don't know what will. Its effects have become obvious in the years later, With many of the Hardcore Headcases are having Brain Surgeries, Neck ops and other body parts being treated.
Legendary Memphis wrestling legend, Jerry "The King" Lawler was perhaps the most vocal about his feelings towards the Extreme place, Leading to a catchphrase he would say to this day, Its "Extremely Crappy Wrestling". You have to be honest, Pro Wrestling is Fake, Scripted or whatever you call it, But why in the name of God did they kill themselves every match when at the end of the day, Some Nobody is just going to walk up to their broken bodies and say you're an idiot or Its fake? And of course the amount of Injuries in comparison to the pay was no-where near enough to live on and pay medical bills. Imagine say Shawn Michaels as an old man telling his grand-children about his life and what he did for a living, Its something that will inspire the children's future and make them proud to say that I'm the kin of the Heart Break kid himself.
Now imagine someone like Balls Mahoney, Or a Tommy Dreamer, Telling their grand children what they did for a living. The stories of Blood, Nails, Wire and a half of a lifetime in an operating theatre, Its hardly something that you can be proud of saying when your in an industry of harsh critics and belittling responses from people who don't know what Pro wrestling is all about. ECW's brand of "Wrestling" was really for the perverted Fans who enjoy sick entertainment.
