The original idea was to give someone, That being any someone a title of being better than the other nineteen competitors in the match, But after a couple of Rumbles, It became an opportunity to main event the Wrestlemania PPV. After more than two decades later, The Royal Rumble is still the pinnacle of WWE's wide variety of match stipulations, But it has become stale.
It has become stale due to its predictability. While most Rumbles have been easy to pick a winner, It seems more fixed than a rub match between a face and a heel who's been undefeated. Yes of course wrestling is fixed, But not to the degree where only one man has been hyped into winning the Royal Rumble match, And then Actually does and defeats a majority of the roster.
Its beyond insulting to even a fan who knows that it is fixed. If the Royal Rumble match is to restore its magic, It needs to bring back its unpredictability. Make It more shocking by adding more legitimate contenders to the match so the chosen victor is hidden to a degree so its anybody guess as to who wins it.
