For the past three decades, WWE has been on top of the situation regarding who will lead the charge at the front line of Main eventing Pay-per-views and being the main merchandise sellers, like Austin and Rock, Hogan and Warrior, and Cena and Batista, But as of Late, WWE seems to be at limbo with who they want as the top dog for the next era. Is it Roman Reigns? Seth Rollins? or AJ Styles? or could it still be Brock Lesnar?, One thing is for sure, There is no lack of suitable candidates for the role. The WWE draft may have just helped make the top star choice much easier, With each brand [Raw and SmackDown] having two main star attractions each, as to before where there were only two talents at a time in the main event scene at a time.
With RAW looking at Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens at the top, and SmackDown with Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles at the top, Both Brands have proven that the talents at the top are capable of holding the fort. But for in the the long run, are they able to remain top draws? At the moment, Neither brand's main event scene has the appeal of a Rock and Austin or a Triple H and Batista scene. With no disrespect intended, But Owens and Ambrose look like two mid card acts at the moment, with their unorthodox ring gear, they just don't fit the mould of a World Champion, Like AJ Styles or Seth Rollins do, And the same goes for Roman Reigns, he just looks more like a mattel made action man, Rather than a pro wrestler. However, This isn't taking anything away from the performers, with Each having their own unique styles that bring together exciting blends and different creations each week in their matches.
So who, of the current WWE RAW Roster, The best choice for the long haul face of the brand would have to be Finn Balor. Despite an injury, He has the ability to be the best at Live Events, and the best for Classic PPV matches that are remembered years down the line. The best choice for SmackDown would have to be either AJ Styles, Or Apollo Crews. Firstly, Apollo, Despite being rather green, has the potential to be a blockbuster star for the brand, with Years of life left in him and alot of experience to gain by being in big event matches, compared to the older AJ, Who has had back issues which could stop his career sooner than later, Especially with AJ's all in style with no limits or boundaries. As for AJ, he could last longer than we think, and with his incredible drawing power and amazing contrast that allows him to work with any size opponent, This could be more than enough to be the face of SmackDown for years and Years to come..
