Will The Roman Empire Fall Again?
NEEDLESS TO SAY, ROMAN REIGNS’ push earlier this year did not exactly go to plan.For the WWE, it was simple, win the Royal Rumble, defeat BROCK LESNAR, become the new face. The fans had other ideas. Roman Reigns was met with a huge backlash this year, and he shouldn’t have. No. he is not the best promo-cutter, neither does he have the biggest move set, but did he deserve such a ****storm of fan rage? No.
WWE Creative did. Roman was simply pushed too fast and too hard while many fans believed there were others more ready for the spot Roman was heading for. Enter SETH ROLLINS. With WWE switching gears and going with Rollins as the next big star, Reigns has had time to simmer down away from the WWE Title picture. His mic skills have slightly improved, his connection with fans has improved and another young star has had a chance to shine.
Time to reign?
It was clear from the moment Reigns confronted Rollins the night after Hell In A Cell that he was heading for a Title match, which he later earned. But even with Rollins’ recent injury and dropping of the WWE Title changing plans, the result of Survivor Series still seems fairly obvious.
If it is indeed time for Roman Reigns to hold the gold, will he face the same backlash he received on the road to WrestleMania? Maybe, but certainly not as much. There are sure many that still feel Reigns is not ready, but enough time has passed and honestly, no other avenues make more sense right now. The biggest question is will he raise the Title as a face or heel?
